Twitter is testing a co-authoring feature that allows two accounts to write a tweet together
Twitter has begun testing the 'co-author' tweet feature, which Instagram will launch on its platform in 2021. This functionality comes in handy when two accounts wish to have their identities associated with a single post, such as in brand collaborations or influencer campaigns.
Once published, collaborative tweets are shared with followers from both accounts, and both avatars appear in the top left corner of the message.
Twitter has revealed to TechCrunch that it is "exploring" a new feature that would allow two accounts to co-author a single tweet. Alessandro Paluzzi, an app researcher, has been providing proof of the feature's development since at least December.
According to TechCrunch's pictures, users will only be allowed to ask public accounts who follow them to co-author a tweet, and they must accept the request.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced in a regulatory filing on Monday that he owns 9.2 percent of Twitter. Musk bought around 73.5 million shares.
Musk's ownership in Twitter is classified as a passive investment, which suggests he is a long-term investor who wants to limit his buying and selling of the stock.
Late last week, it was rumoured that TweetDeck will soon become a premium tool available only to Twitter Blue subscribers. A sign-up page for the forthcoming edition of TweetDeck, Twitter's tweet management tool, was discovered by a tipster. Twitter released a big redesign of TweetDeck in July of last year.
