Madrassa teacher sentenced to 60 years in jail and fined Rs 3 lakh for sexually assaulting 6-year-old girl
Kerala: A madrassa teacher has been sentenced to 60 years in jail and fined Rs 3 lakh for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl.
Abdul Hakeem, a native of Kuruvambalam in Malappuram, was convicted by the Pattambi POCSO court.
The court sentenced him to 20 years rigorous imprisonment each under three sections. The incident took place in 2019.
The police had registered a case under the POCSO Act following a complaint that the accused sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl at a madrasa.
