A 15-year-old boy was taken to a secluded residence in Kannur's Ayikkara and raped after being given ganja beedis. In connection with the matter, the police have detained one Shereef, a Kannur resident. According to the authorities, the child was lured into the ganja trade by his neighbour Rashad.

Rashad, a neighbour, had acquired the child's phone number for online study throughout the Covid time. He entrapped the youngster by giving the number to someone else in Ayikkara. They are both vital members of the ganja sales ring.

They gave him ganja beedis and took him to a secluded room in Ayikkara. The youngster notified the house as soon as this became usual. Following this, the boy's uncles and police utilised the child to apprehend the suspect. He entered the room after calling the gang members on the phone with the youngster, and the cops busted open the door and apprehended him. The police have increased their hunt for Rashad, the accused's companion.
