A 19-year-old girl, who was arrested at the Karipur airport with a gold mixture worth Rs 1 crore inside her undergarments, had gone to Dubai on the pretext of appearing for an interview. Shahala, a native of Kasargod, had told her family that she had a six-day interview in Dubai and wanted to attend it.

According to the police, the gold smuggling gang paid Rs 60,000 to Shahala as a reward.

Shahala had concealed 1884 grams of gold in mixed form in three packets inside her undergarments. According to the police, it was the gold smuggling gang that hid the gold in the mixed form inside the undergarment and handed it over.
