9th grade girl left the country, raped; Youth arrested in POCSO case

Chokli (Kannur): The Chokli police have arrested a youth for allegedly luring and sexually assaulting a class IX student. Inspector C Shaju arrested Muhammed Sinan (21), a resident of P K House in Chavassery in Mattannur, under the POCSO Act.

A case was registered on the complaint of the child's parents stating that the child was missing on August 10 and an investigation was launched. Following the phone number, the police found that he was in Hyderabad.

According to the complaint, the child was taken to Bengaluru and Hyderabad and raped. Sinan, who was working in a phone shop in Mattannur, lured the girl by pretending to be in love with her. The accused was produced before the Thalassery Judicial First Class Magistrate Court and remanded in judicial custody.
