1.8 kg of gold concealed in clothes and attempted to smuggle; Woman Arrested With Gold Worth Rs 1.17 Crore In Karipur
KOZHIKODE: The police have arrested a 33-year-old woman for trying to smuggle gold through karipur airport.
Shabna (33), a native of Kunnamangalam, was arrested by the police from outside the airport along with 1884 grams of 24-carat gold.
They had come to Karipur from Jeddah and tried to smuggle 1,884 grams of gold in a mixed form and conceal it inside her clothes. The seized gold is valued at Rs 1.17 crore in the domestic market.
The woman landed at calicut airport on a SpiceJet (SG54) flight that arrived from Jeddah at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 16th May 2023.
